We are delighted to welcome Rob back to Canel in 2025. Rob is a very experienced painter and has taught many courses in France, including here at Canel in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024.

He has been painting in the watercolor medium for over forty years. One of his main objectives in watercolor painting is to create light through the use of shadow. In painting ordinary images, he finds a fascinating interplay between the two. The transparency of the medium helps in bringing shadows alive while allowing the light to glow.”

What to expect

5 full days of watercolor plein air painting at Canel and in the local area. One day during the week you will have a free day to explore the area. All breakfasts, most lunches and most evening meals are catered for at Canel.
